Meet Our Providers

Kate Marciniec, FNP-BC

Experience

I started my career in health care after graduating from Purdue in 2003. I worked as an ER nurse at Methodist Hospital for the next 10 years., but I knew that I wanted to make an impact in helping to prevent disease. I then graduated from IUPUI as an NP in 2012.

I initially worked in a traditional primary care office but realized traditional medicine was just helping people stay sick longer, not preventing disease.

Enter functional medicine. I started training in functional medicine in 2015 through The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). I then joined a local practice that combined functional and traditional medicine, where I practiced for 6 years.

During that time, I continued my training through IFM as well as the American Academy for AntiAging Medicine, A4M.

Alongside my studies in functional medicine, I developed a passion for helping men and women look their best and dedicated hundreds of hours to training in the field of aesthetics, which I have been practicing for 5 years.

In 2023, along with my husband, Mike Marciniec, NP, I founded Solid Wellness and Aesthetics to help bring the practice of functional medicine and natural aesthetic results to more people.

Personal

Aside from my work as an NP, I am an active member of the Westfield community, where I have 3 fantastic (and busy) kiddos. You may have seen me at the baseball diamonds, soccer fields, wrestling meets, and football games!

I enjoy being with my family, watching and coaching my kids' sports, weightlifting, and soaking in the sunshine (with SPF, of course).

My family and I are active in our faith and church and strongly feel that God's guidance has put them in this place to help others.

Mike Marciniec, NP

Experience

I have been in health care for over the past 25 years. My medical career started as an EMT in 1997 while in college at Depauw University. Over the years, my career progressed from 911 Paramedic to a suburban Firefighter Paramedic, then a Flight paramedic. I returned to school for nursing and then became an Emergency Room RN and then a Flight Nurse. I returned to school again and completed my Nurse Practitioner.

I have spent my career taking care of people when they needed it the most. For the past 7 years, I have been a nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedic trauma and intensive care medicine.

These experiences have shaped the practitioner I am today. I have taken care of the sickest of the sick and have developed a special interest in wanting to optimize men's health and preventing illness.

I have been involved in fitness and sports all my life, from playing Division III college football to being active with my family. I continue to enjoy playing sports and elevating my fitness.

Alyssa Barr, FNP

Experience

My healthcare journey began as an ER nurse at Methodist Hospital, where I acquired essential skills in emergency care and gained a great understanding of patient needs. Over the course of my career, I transitioned into the role of a Family Nurse Practitioner after graduating from the University of Indianapolis. I now have more than seven years of experience as a provider.

My professional focus centers on women's health, particularly preventive care, weight loss and menopause management. I am deeply committed to assisting women in navigating this transformative phase of life. Additionally, I am passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and equipping individuals with evidence-based weight management strategies.

In the field of aesthetics, I offer safe and natural treatments designed to enhance self-confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy exercise, engaging in various outdoor activities, and cooking. I have two kids that keep me busy with sports and after school activities.

My mission is to educate and empower women, enabling them to lead healthier, happier lives through informed decisions and proactive health management. As a healthcare provider, I am more than just a practitioner; I am a dedicated partner in my patients' journeys toward becoming the best versions of themselves. I am ready to collaborate with you to achieve your health and wellness goals.

How We Approach Health

Functional medicine does not have to be expensive, and it does not have to be overwhelming.

Through a step-by-step approach, we will work with you to help you make the changes you need to feel and look your best.

How We Approach Aesthetics

Having an aesthetic treatment done is a big decision. We believe you should meet a few different injectors to find one who you trust to care for you and whose idea of beauty matches your own.

At Solid Wellness and Aesthetics, we allow your natural beauty to shine through by focusing on subtle enhancements. Less is more at Solid.
