Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you take insurance?

We do not accept insurance for our appointments. However, we do offer insurance-based lab work if you choose to use your insurance. We also offer cash-pay labs for a significant discount.

  • How is your office different than my doctor's office?

Traditional medicine is designed to quickly diagnose and prescribe treatments. Traditional providers are limited by insurance payments to spend only a few minutes with each patient, and traditional providers are also limited in knowledge of what is taught in medical or nurse practitioner school and what insurance will pay for.

At Solid, we are not limited by any of these things. We have the freedom to spend time with our patients and get to the root of their concerns. We treat each patient individually, working with them to determine their best treatment plans. We are also committed to continuing education and staying up to date on the latest medical evidence through conferences, reading, researching, and thinking outside of the conventional box. Functional medicine addresses disease and symptoms at a cellular level.

  • How is EvexiPel different that other pellets?

The key feature of the EvexiPEL Method is the use of a patented pellet formulation developed by FarmaKeio Outsourcing. This pellet is specifically designed to improve patient comfort and deliver sustained, steady dosing throughout the treatment cycle, When combined with the EvexiPEL Method of insertion, patients enjoy hormone optimization without the hassles common with other pellet therapy methods.

In a recent research study, patients who were treated with the EvexiPEL Method using the FarmaKeio Outsourcing pellet formulation experienced fewer extrusions than those who received alternative methods of pellet therapy. This means that patients can enjoy the benefits of hormone replacement without the worry of unsightly or painful extrusions.

In addition to the patented pellet formulation, the EvexiPEL Method also stands out for its personalized approach to hormone replacement. By testing hormone levels and tailoring treatment plans to each individual patient, EvexiPEL Certified providers offer a more targeted and effective form of HRT than traditional methods

  • Do pellets hurt?

We are certified EvexiPel Method providers, meaning we are highly trained in an insertion method that greatly minimizes any discomfort.

Numbing medication is injected in the skin first, making the pellet insertion virtually painless.

  • What are GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1 medications like FDA-approved Wegovy and compounded semaglutide work by reducing insulin resistance, decreasing cravings, and slowing how quickly food moves through your system.

These medications are a wonderful tool for helping with weight loss, but they must be combined with diet and exercise changes to help prevent weight re-gain.

At Solid Wellness, we work with you to help you make these lifestyle changes.

  • Do you prescribe Wegovy and Mounjaro?

Wegovy (semaglutide) is an FDA-approved medication for obesity. If you meet the criteria determined by the FDA and your insurance covers this medication, we can prescribe it. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is currently only FDA-approved for diabetes. If you are diabetic, we can prescribe this. ZepBound is the same medication as Mounjaro, but is FDA approved for weight loss. If you have insurance coverage for this, we are happy to prescribe it.

For most of our patients, these medications are not covered by insurance. In that case, we can prescribe a compounded semaglutide from a 503B compounding pharmacy that is similar to, but not identical to, the FDA-approved version. The majority of our patients are using compounded semaglutide and having great success with weight loss.

  • What can I expect with Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injection medication that stimulates your body to produce more collagen over a period of months.

Sculptra requires a minimum of 2 sessions, spaced 6-8 weeks apart and results last up to 2 years.

Although some swelling and bruising may occur, most clients feel comfortable going back to regular activities immediately following their appointments.

  • Are hormones safe?

Hormones are messengers in our bodies that allow our body systems to communicate.

The safety of hormones was called into question after the Women's Health Initiative Study was released in 2000. This study showed a very slight increase in the risk of breast cancer in women treated with synthetic progestin hormone. Unfortunately, the media reported that estrogen and hormones, in general, caused cancer. This led both patients and healthcare providers to believe hormones were dangerous and hormone prescriptions decreased significantly since that time. The WHI study had many flaws, and there have been a significant amount of studies since that time showing the safety of hormones.

When given in the correct doses by providers who remain up to date on the latest research, hormones can be used safely. As with any treatment, we will discuss risks and benefits to help you make the best choice for your health.

  • What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox and Dysport both work the same way. They temporarily stop the nerves and muscles from communicating in the treated area. Both products last, on average, 3 months. Both products carry the same risks and benefits.

Dysport typically begins to work faster than Dyport, which makes it a great choice when you want quick results! Dysport is the preferred treatment at Solid Wellness and Aesthetics.

  • Do fillers hurt?

At Solid, we use an excellent numbing cream to help minimize the pain with filler injections. On top of this, filler medications like Versa and Restylane, contain lidocaine, a numbing medication.

  • Do you use Alle, Brilliant Distinctions, or Aspire Rewards for aesthetic treatments?

We primarily use Galderma aesthetic products and participate in the Aspire Rewards program. This program allows you to get $20 off Dysport injections every 90 days. Aspire Rewards often offers additional coupons and discounts. Our practice manager, Tina, is an expert with Aspire Rewards and will get you set up and redeem your points for you. It's easy!

  • I'm afraid of looking frozen or having duck lips. How is Solid different from medspas?

Often, the fear of looking "done" keeps people from learning their options for skin health. At Solid, our goal is to help you feel naturally beautiful. Kate will always be honest with you about what products and quantities will help you achieve this, and she will tell you "no" if what you are requesting will draw away from your natural beauty.

  • What is the InBody 570?

The InBody 570 is a bioimpedence device that measures your weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, fluid status and visceral (internal fat).

We use this on every weight loss patient to help monitor progress and minimize muscle loss.
